MAC Trolls Collection Review

MAC’s most recent collection has just dropped in NZ and it is damn cute! I had a little family of Troll’s when I was younger, who can resist those crazy hairstyles and cute smiles? I equally can’t resist the amazing packaging of this new collection, see full details below!

Trolls MAC3

Eye shadow

Silly Vanilly – White with glitter – $42NZD

Suns out Buns out – Mustard yellow with pearl – $42NZD

Paradisco – Bright pinky coral with pearl – $42NZD

Atlantic Blue – Cobalt blue – $42NZD

Black Tied – Black with silver sparkle – $42NZD

I found that only the Atlantic blue had a good amount of pigment, the rest did quite hit the mark. The Silly Vanilly would possibly be good for setting the crease to brow bone and give a extra sparkle.

Glitter and Pigment

Transparent Teal – Very fine reflective teal glitter – $52NZD

Chartreuse Pigment – Frosted chartreuse green – $52NZD

Purple Duo – Very fine reflective violet glitter – $52NZD

Fuchsia – Fine fuchsia glitter – $52NZD

Definitely value for money IF you know how to best use the glitter and pigment otherwise stick to the eye shadows!

Lipsticks and glosses

Can’t be Tamed – Lustre – Sheer lime yellow – $44NZD

Sushi Kiss – Satin – Midtone coral cream – $44NZD

Dance off Pants off – Frost – Frosted hot pink – $44NZD

Midnight Troll – Matte – Rich blue – $44NZD

Saint Germain – Gloss – Light cool pink – $42NZD

Twerkqoise – Gloss – Transparent sky blue with fine pink reflect – $44NZD

Bubble butt – Gloss – Magenta with fine pink and blue glitter – $44NZD

Glitter Grunge – Sheer berry with extra fine silver sparkle – $44NZD

These products are without a doubt my favourite of the collection, I love the names and the bright variety of colours. They have re released two top selling shades in gloss form, Saint Germain and Sushi Kiss which I think will please a lot of Mac regulars. I ended up buying Dance off Pants off after spending while trying to decide between that and Bubble Butt, I’m very impressed with the consistency and longevity plus it didn’t dry and flake my lips like i’ve had with other Mac lipsticks.

Beauty Powders

Play it Proper – Pastel soft pink with sparkles – $55NZD

Glow Rida – Iridescent powder matched in beige beauty powder – $55NZD

I was the most excited about these and bless the sales lady really tried to sell them but they just don’t have the pay off i’m looking for. It looks amazing in the compact but it doesn’t translate once applied.

Hair Spray

Good Luck Locks – Bubblegum Pink – $58NZD

Tease and Thank you – Bright cobalt blue – $58NZD

I can’t give a opinion on these as the two testers the store had were empty 🙁 Such a fun idea for a product though!

Lastly the 187 brush ($95 NZD), it’s gorgeous and the bristles are lovely and soft. For me personally I didn’t have place for it in my already extensive brush collection and it is quite light duty and would be used for finishing.

This whole collection is so pretty, it’s definitely one for the collectors out there. I would say the lip collection is definitely the best and the most use-able. I viewed this collection at MAC Britomart, they currently do not have a stand for this but if you ask the lovely staff they will bring it out for you. View the full collection online here and buy in store over over the phone to your local MAC store.

Much love x
